Papua New Guinea (2001-2010)

In 2001, the Tarvurvur Volcano in Rabaul erupted, and Ulla Lohmann traveled alone to „the country the most dangerous outside a war zone“. Ulla survived (also the volcanic eruption) and ever since, she travels up to three times a year to Papua New Guinea. There are many exciting things there: Unknown mummies and rituals related to death deep inside the jungle, never discovered species of plants and animals and many active volcanoes. In PNG, they say: „Expect the unexpected!“
